Organist—Pianist—Composer

Abbie Wood plays Symphony VI for Organ and Orchestra: I. Allegro by C. M. Widor with the Syracuse University Orchestra

Abbie Wood

Abbie Wood is an undergraduate Organ Performance major at Syracuse University, studying in the studio of Dr. Anne Laver. She specializes in church services and recitals, vocal accompaniment, and composition and improvisation.

Since her first piano lesson as a child, her heart has always been devoted to creating music. Throughout grade school at Eastern York School District, she learned to play the piano, violin, clarinet (and bass clarinet), saxophone, guitar, and of course, the organ. She also loved singing in choir. Organizations like the AGO Pipe Organ Encounters, the York Youth Symphony Orchestra, York County Honors Choirs, and the various ensembles of the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA), taught her to love collaboration and playing high-level music with others.
